I am soooo late reading this. Like, soooo late. Reaally late. Reaaaa—*reader whacks frying pan over Dumbtastic Belle's head*
HEYY! That hurt...*pouts*....*sniffles*....*readers shoot warning glare* Okaayy, okaayy. *holds up hands*
But seriously, I can't believe I took this long to read Opposition. It's blasphemy.

When I read all the excerpts during the release (I totes stalked that tour), I got the impression that Opposition would be full of annoying teenage angst (and mayhap this is one of the reasons I put off reading Opposition) and that I'd be in need of a voodoo 'Sadi' doll to stab repeatedly with razor sharp pins in order to release my frustration. Thankfully – because you reaally don't want to see me lose my composure....it's not pretty – for me and any other readers who are prone to bookish anger issues, Daemon was his usual cheeky self, Sadi was disposed of rather quickly *smirk*, Katemon was melting my insides, and all was right in the world. Except for the worldwide apocalypse, that is.

Opposition starts a couple days after the events of Origin, and things heat up rather quickly when Katy is taken captive by the invading Luxen and Katemon is reunited. But the question stands, are Daemon, Dawson and Dee still themselves, or are they under the influence of the invading Luxen?

In this final instalment of the Lux series we learn a bit more on the Luxen, Arum, and Origins.
To my understanding, the Luxen and Arum are just two sides of one coin, so to speak, and were created to keep each other in check.
Although the Luxen that landed on earth were super evil and stoic, I have little idea what the Luxen were like back when they had their own planet. After all, if I remember correctly, Mathew was the equivalent of a kid or teenager back then and he didn't turn out too bad. Well, maybe he wasn't the most cute and cuddly Luxen out there, and he had some questionable morals, but he certainly wasn't the worst Luxen when compared to the creepy bunch that dropped out of the sky.

My favourite thing about Opposition simply has to be all the Daemon POVs.
They were so addictive and fun to read, and, well, his head is always in the gutter XD And it's for this reason (Daemon's gutterhead) that Opposition is probably more NA than the preceding Lux books have ever been. Not that I'm complaining.....;)
Daemon and his possessiveness over Kat is so freaking cute. Like the wall scene after they met Lotho and he gave his 'special request' *giggles*

(view spoiler)[Poor Katy tho. Her mum was such a bubbly cool person! So sad that she was killed by the Luxen. And by the order of that psycho Origin, Ethan, no less. The fact that Ethan, the Elder of the Lux colony close to Seneca Rocks was actually the leader of the Luxen, was a bit of a surprise for me because, to be honest, I completely forgot about him and his purple eyes. Whoops. (hide spoiler)]

I'm a little mad with the end of this book. Not because it sucked, but because JLA left us wondering what Daemon whispered in Katy's ear *pouts* I waanna know! It would've been cheeky and dirty, no doubt. That's Daemon for you.

The journey with the Lux series has been amazing, and I can't thank JLA enough for writing it <3  Katy and Daemon will stay with me forever, and I'll probably reread the series an uncountable number of times during my book filled life!!

5 holy alien babies of course!!! And one of said babies is a little Katemon!! *squeals* Yess that's right, if you read this post in Jennifer's blog a while back, you would've heard that Katy and Daemon eventually have a baby!!!!!! *starts crying happy tears*

LOVEEEEE!!!!!!! I'm in the process of re-reading the Lux series so I can happily gobble Opposition ;) I knoww, I'm a bit slowww......I should have started re-reading last month (3 months ago now xD), but nooo *le siigh*

Anyhoooo, did I mention I loveeeee this book?? XDD
The whole alien thang is a bit off my usual turf, but it's worth it! I love the concept of the Luxens......ookayy, mainly because they're smoking hot *guilty grin* XD But also for their powers, and the shades of grey that start to appear regarding the DOD, Luxen, and Arum......tho in Obsidian it's strictly black and white.....so I say no more *zips lips*

I gotta say, I burst out laughing when I realized 'Waiting on Wednesday' was mentioned! XP Back the first time I read Obsidian, I didn't know what that meant, but now, as a book blogger myself (like Katy), I couldn't stop giggling at the mention of the famous meme :P
It's so cool that our MC is a book blogger! Now that I am one, I can fully appreciate what that means, so yaaahhh, Kat totally earned some brownie points for that *winks*
Plus she's a stubborn, strong-willed MC, and that fact rockets her brownie points sky high!! 'Cause for a book, the way into my heart is to have great female protagonists! :D

Not that all the females were great charries......*glares at Ash* I feel a bit betteh knowing her fate, and yeaaahhh, that probably makes me a cruel hard ass, but I stick to my hatred for the biaatchhh ^^ And tho my hate is starting to distribute to the new biatchhh in Opposition aka Sadi *sneers*, there's more than enough hate for the two of them *smirks and flicks hair bitchily*

Daemonn *sighs dreamily* He was......as hot as I remember XD Charming when he wants to be......sweet when his guard comes down, yet a total prick when he's guarded. Which is most of the time in Obsidian, unfortunately for Katy....*pats head*
But even as a jerk, some of the scenes.....*fans face* Goooo Katemon! <3

The second Lux novel...Just as good as the first :D  I absolutely love Onyx. This one doesn't focus as much on the relationship, although that is still very present, between Katy and Daemon, but focuses a lot on Katy and her growing powers.

Yep, you heard me right. Katy has powers. Apparently, when Daemon healed her that night in the clearing, he altered her DNA somehow to where she became a hybrid of Luxen and human. Obviously neither Katy or Daemon tell anyone else about this because of the fact that it's forbidden for a Luxen to heal a human.

Then Blake come strolling into town...God I hate him. He deserves all the wrong names that Daemon calls him throughout the book and so much more. If I were Daemon and Katy, I wouldn't have let him go at the end of the book. I know that too many people had died that night (some that broke me hear :( ) but come on! Look how much trouble he caused you! And how much trouble he's gonna cause you later one!! Ugh..Just...UGH! Flake you really get on mah nerves.

*takes deep breath* Okay..Now that that is done xD I'd also like to point out that Will, the doctor that Katy's mom is dating, is a complete ass and needs to be taken care of pronto. I can't believe he was using her mom to get close to Katy just because he wanted to be healed forever like she had been. I get not wanting his cancer to come back, but that was low, and I want him dead.

...It seems like I'm a violet person due to these rants about killing people...but I swear I'm really not XD

Now that ending...O.O I just have to say that was really unexpected. I mean for him to come back without her and everything...I never did understand why DB came back without looking for her...And just to tell you guys, I'm not gonna say who I'm talking about *evil laughter* Y'all will just have to read the book :D

Sorry this review was so short /: I tried so many times to write this review and it just didn't work out so well. That don't mean I didn't love the book though xD It's still one of my favorites

Okay so let me start off with how much I love this book! This is the second time I've read it and I have to say that it was as good as I remembered. Jennifer had me falling in love with the characters all over again and I thought my fangirling heart was going to combust from how much it swelled with love for every interaction Katy had with Daemon and all the tension that flowed between them.

Now, to the actual book xD Originally when I read this I was a bit skeptical because I never really did like alien books, but after reading it not one, but two times, I have to say that it's one of my favorites. Jennifer adds in a mix a seriousness and funniness that has you cracking up one minute and nearly sobbing or raging the next. It's an emotional roller coaster than I would gladly go on over and over again.

So when Katy first arrives, her mother tells her to go meet the neightbors. Of course the first glimpse of Daemon is him shirtless and all yumtastic xD but what we also see is him being a douchecanoe towards her. So not cool bro >:( But Katy's response is amazing and shows us avid readers that she isn't one to be messed with. It sets up their whole love-hate realtionship that they have goin' on through the whole book ;)

After we get a glimpse of Daemon *fans self* (Btw I ain't cheating on Adrian with Daemon, but it's not like I don't have eyes XD) Katy meets Dee in FOOLAND and their new friendship starts. I personally love Dee. She's sweet and just so amazing that you can't help but love her. Later on in the series tho *scowls* but that's not important right at the moment XD Their friendship gets off to a great start...And then Daemon happens.

So in order for Daemon to earn "Bonus Points" with his sister, he has to take Katy out to swim. Right off the bat, sexual tension sparks between them, and Katy just has to show him up by wearing a red bikini *rolls eyes* but that's not the thing that's most important. This is when Katy first starts to realize that something is just not right with the Black family.

Okay, so fast forward past some friend days and some arguments between Katy and Daemon and you get to where Katy finally learns about them being aliens.

Now I know what y'all are thinking. You're thinking "Eww but that means she's attracted to a GREEN MARTIAN DUDE!!" But that is so, so not the case XD The Luxen, which is what Daemon and Dee and all the others like them are called, are made up of light. They are beautiful beings and basically just like a human...if humans were made of light XD 

So Katy finds out, but doesn't freak like Daemon believed she would, earning her bonus points in his eyes ;) The only problem is that now Katy has a trace on her. A trace is like a beacon to Arum, evil aliens, that lets them know Luxen are around. Now Katy must spend all of her time with Daemon >:) So much sexual tension!! I thought I would combust from them spending time together!!!

Fast forwarding, Katy now knows most everything there is to know about Luxen and their world. But now an Arum is after her and Daemon for killing his brothers. Katy, bless her soul, won't let herself be a danger to Dee and the other Luxen. By this point, we all know that Daemon has feelings for her, but of course, Katy doesn't see that and charges off, leading the Arum away from the house.

Throughout the whole battle between Katy, Daemon (yes he shows up to save her :D), and the Arum, I was freaking out. Daemon is one kickass Luxen, man.  If he hadn't been distracted by Dee(who shows up -.-) and by Katy and wanting to make sure they were safe, he most likely would have defeated the Arum single-handedly. But Dee gets hurt and lays dying and then Katy isn't in any better shape due to all the hurt the Arum gave her before Daemon managed to find her. But one small distraction and Daemon lay there beside Katy, injured and near dying as well.

Now I'm sobbing because they can't die and I can't believe Jennifer would put us through this kind of pain, but then the unexpected happens.

Katy joins hands with Dee and Daemon and somehow manages to kill the Arum that's trying to kill all three of them. It doesn't make any sense, there is no plausible explanation for how she did it, but she some how managed to tap into the Luxen powers.

This does not, however, stop Katy from dying :( Dee and Daemon are okay and they start gaining strength, but Katy...she's still laying there dying from how much trauma she had been put through. Dee runs to get Adam, another Luxen that is amazing at healing, but Daemon stays. He does something that no Luxen, as far as they know, has done before. He sheds his human skin and heals Katy more thoroughly than he had before. This somehow creates a bond between the two and it brings Katy back from the brink of death.

NOT

Unfortunately, Katy is a stubborn person and doesn't believe that Daemon could ever have feelings for her with the way that he treated her when she first arrived to town.

 

And that concludes book one! Daemon informs her that he won't stop trying to convince her of his feelings because he likes a challenge and the book ends. Book two now...that's a whole other ball game XD

I wanna hear it across the magnificently awesomely dangerously huge oceans that are most likely between us! XPP *huffs* LOUDER!!!!!!! ............theeerrrrreeeee yooooouuuuu goooooo!!! That wasn't that hard, was it? *rolls eyes* It WAS not!!! Besides, a little bit of fangirling, or fanboying, I'm not sexist :D, goes a loonnnngggg wayy! XD Light spirits peeps!! .......yeahh, I got WAY off topic didn't I? Oppss! *rueful smile* Right, so!
Jennifer L. Armentrout NEVER fails to amaze me with her outstanding literature! (no, hush, I actually AM on topic now!! XD) I love every SINGLE book she writes!!! If you can give me one I don't like.......idk ;D But I sincerely doubt it.
Origin was no exception, WOW! Should I break out the spoilers? There were some sudden twists that I sooo didn't expect (view spoiler).
And the ending!!!!! *dies* Aka the finale. All I can say is.........HOLY ALIEN BABIES!!!!!!!! Crazyyyy. And I'm really distraught too. Me no likey how it ended! I MUST have Opposition asap!!! Hurry upppp time!! ;(
One plot twist I suspected tho (I know, just one, pitiful! ;D) (view spoiler).
Also, I just gotta say; KATY AND DAEMON ARE ONE OF THE MOST PERFECT YA COUPLES..........EVERR!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3 The passion is always stellar and palpable! Luvvv them!! Ohhhh, and I want some baby Daemons!! Noww!! Gimme some little Daemon (view spoiler) babiessss J. L. Armen and I will worship youu forever!!! Prettyyy pweasee? Cherries on toppp?? xDD

Soooooo! Daedalus. What's their cause? Their purpose? They would attack civilians in attempts to keep the Luxen etc secret and yet they say they're all for helping humanity. I believe it's because they have the 'sacrifice some for the survival of humanity as a whole' outlook. But keeping humanity alive and kicking against......what? The Luxen invasion? But if so HOW did Daedalus know about the impending Luxen invasion? Are the Luxen truly there to take over? Because if so, I honestly think Daedalus and humanity doesn't stand a chance. There's just too many. And why did the Luxen only come after the existence of alien life had been uncovered to the whole Earth? Was this a coincidence? Or not? Daedalus is playing with genes; they're playing with LIVES in this quest of their's. MANY LIVES. Tho supposedly insignificant against everything else? I'm guessing that's their excuse? (hide spoiler)]
There's a lot I still don't know; hopefully Opposition will change that when it EVENTUALLY comes out.
Only con I felt: I know these books are primarily about Kat and Daemon, but one thing I felt was there could have been a bit more Beth and Dawson. Idk. I just feel like there was the Shadows novella, and that's it. No more Beth and Dawson except a plot line on what's happening to them as Kat and Daemon's story ploughs straight forward on a roller coaster. But whatevs.
5 out of 5 stars, obviously. :P

• I'm really, really sorry for the HUGE delay in the Liebster Award post, it's almost finished.....we're just waiting on a reply from one of our prospective nominees as to their total number of followers......since I thought it might be a bit close to 200......so yeah, sorry again peeps XD
• My mum and I wanted to get a DVD copy of Frozen to keep in our personal collection, 'cause, you know, Frozen is AWESOMESAUCE!! Right???? But what happened then, you ask? Welll........I'll tell you! WE COULDN'T FIND A SINGLE COPY BECAUSE ALL THE STORES WE CHECKED IN TOWN WERE SOLD OUT!!! *EVERYONE GASPS* IKR?!?! So now we'll have to wait for the shops to re-stock till we can get our beloved Frozen and make my bro and dad watch it *snickers* Talk about popular Disney movies *shakes head in disbelief*
• I'm terrible. No really, I haven't finished a single book (not counting Watty books *winks at Tiaaaaa XD) all month! *sadface* I really must get onto reading all the books I wanna stick my head into........but what do I read first once I've finished The Book Thief? *sigh* Re-start The Fiery Heart and/or Alienated, or FINALLY read White Hot Kiss (seriously, I've been DYING to read this)? Any thoughts guys? lol here I am asking for help.....urghhh. *smacks forehead*

XD Yeahhh I gotsa agree that the Opposition cover isn't my favourite..but then again..no offense of courrse.. none of the Lux novel covers are really...great o.O I mean have you SEEN them? *giggles* Although this one seems to top the ugly cover list of the Lux series. Whats up with the design publishers.. that dude does NOT look like Daemon. At all. *throws hands up* He's not even wearing a shirt *facepalm* If that's meant for women to go "Oooh baby faced shirtless dudeee! Let's reaadd ittt!!" No. Plan failed.
and OMG THAT DRAWING OF THE COVER!!!! AHAHAHA!!! NY Times blahblah *gasps for breathe* I actually like that one better XD LOOK AT HIS WITTLE ZAPPY HANDS!!! *falls over laughing* ALIEN FACEEEE!! • Okay, how many of you read the BFG? By Roald Dahl? Childhood memoriiess... *looks over at crowd*...*sees a majority of hands raised*  Yes! *claps hands* Weeelll...get ready for itt...even if you might have heard this already....*drum roll* STEVEN SPIELBURG IS TO MAKE A FILM ADAPTION. *awaits response* XD Aren't you excited?? Even though I have no idea when it's gonna come out, I really want to see it!! I read that book when I was like 7 or 8. Awesome book.. Ze Big Friendly Giant<33 
• Alsoo... apparently the 20th Century Fox Television ordered a TV pilot of Delirium byyy..Lauren Oliver, I think? Yeahhh. I got the news from um.. it's comin to me...*racks brain* Okay pooh, I can't remember. I'll search my history and get back to ya XD Has anyone read it? I haven't, but it looks interesting enough. Although I tried reading Panic by Lauren Oliver, and i've been reading it for a month now.... *shrugs* Maybe Delirium will be better! Hopefully. 
• What elseee is new...*ponders* Oh. The One by Kiera Cass came out a few days ago! Personally, I didn't really like the series, so I didn't bother reading it and asked for spoilers. (I know who she pickss *cackles*) and loads of people have been crying over it, no idea why since I haven't read it, but also, loads of people have been tweeting about #TheOne, and I'm seeing #TheOne EVERYWHERE. Literally. XD And I've also seen #UnlockTheOne about a million times too (I'm lookin at you mostly, Rach XD) Such dedicated people *clutches head* Kiera Cass would be proud. Thoughts about the book? Without spoilers please? :D Loved it..hated it.. Tell meh.
• Don't know if this is remotely interesting to you, but my current favourite songs of the week are Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and Piano Man by Billy Joel. I'm on a oldies craze ever since like twoo...weeks ago? Don't look at me like that! *whines* Oldies are actually really nicee!! I mostly listened to rock before, but now its oldies rock *waggles eyebrows* XD 
• My science teacher called me a ninja today. HIYAA. *giggles* Did you know my dream was to be a ninja ever since I was like...7? Thats why whenever my teachers told me to write my dream down, so they could use it in display or whatever, I was like .....ninja... Them: ... Anything else? Me: *stands there for literally more than 5 minutes trying to come up with a "realistic" one*...*teachers get impatient*...Why don't you be an author or nurse, sweetie? You would be good at those. Me: *nods* Author. XD I don't wanna be an author though, as strange as it might seem..being an avid reader and all. I dunno..I like READING. Writin ain't mah thing.
